Hi , I care for my mum she is nearly 84 , is bed bound and has late stage dementia and is deteriorating in all ways, she has spent the last week constantly call out , mummy, and her to her brothers , one who passed away many years ago, the dr last week prescribed Risperidone, has anyone anyone any advice or previous experience of this .?

My mum used to call out for her mum so I know how distressing it is to have to deal with this. I found the best way to calm her down was to tell her her mum would be there soon. Of course I felt bad about lying then but if a “love lie” as it’s called on here works it’s often the best option.
