Hi need some answers please my mum is 91 years young and has mixed dementia. She has been in her latest care home for 18 months she was placed in this care Homs as it could meet all her needs including 1-1 care as this was a stipulation if her leaving hospital.
We were told yesterday that the Homs has decided to remove her 1-1 care can they do this as it’s in her BI care plan

do you think she still needs it? Who funds it?

people change as the condition progresses, care plans change.

Hello @sas10 Care home care plans and risk assessments should be regularly reviewed and, as has already been mentioned, the care needs of those with dementia will change as their condition progresses so things like aggression, falls risk etc which may require 1:1 care can reduce over time. What was your mum receiving the 1:1 for? Have a chat with the care home manager, or your mum's social worker if she has one, and they will be able to explain the reasons for this change with you.
