Well I have found a nursing home for mum and i am starting her on a month's respite. if she is happy, she will stay. But what do I need to watch out for in signing a care home contract? not sure if this should be here or on the legal and financial thread, but any thoughts would be welcome. She is self funding, so I am looking at it from that angle.

Even though the circumstances are self funding, I would talk to your local CCG (clinical commissioning group) - just google your area and CCG to find - as they may have a standard checklist if things to check. Even though you are in a self funding situation, your relative still has a right to expect an overseeing of their care by the local authorities and they can offer some good advice. Good luck.:)
