Mum has just had a bad fall and needs to have an operation today. I fear she will be in hospital for at least 4 weeks and then maybe a nursing home for a while?

I know I have to notify DWP so the AA can be stopped at 4weeks.

How easy is it to get it started again?? It's not more form filling is it?

It was easy to get the AA restarted after Mum had been in hospital for a lengthy period. I just phoned then when she had been in for 4 weeks and they stopped it, then phoned them again when she was discharged and they re-started it.

When we had to do this for dad last summer we just had to make a phone call to stop then restart it

If you get carers allowance don't forget about that too.
I just read about this online, forget i mentioned it really, because you will still be caring for them when in hospital.
