Care at home fees

I look after my mother at home can anyone explain how the fees will work from LA after you go below the £22,250,it was mentioned on the forum that you pay £1 per £250 and most of the persons pensions,does this include private pensions?How much would you be allowed left for food and how is that worked out?My mum pays £1100 for home care at the moment so following this formula £89 to pay a week plus most of her pension doesn't seem like much help

some of the care stuff that I buy is bought in bulk so it would only show on a bank statement every 3 months so how would you manage to get things like that as items to be used against your budget for health items needed that they allow as I assume they will be looking at monthly expenditure spending

Actually that other thread relates to paying for care in a care home - your situation is different and the calculations are different.

The Factsheet I linked does relate to care in ones own home as well as in a Care Home. I don't know if it will answer your question though.
