The Beeb (and others) are running a piece about Viagra - how men taking it may reduce their risk of Alzheimer's by up to 18%.

(Note the word may - more research is needed as other factors may come into play, not least that social isolation is considered to be a risk and men taking viagra are probably not socially isolated...)

18% is encouraging so I'm off to buy some online. I just need to pretend I'm a bloke with erectile dysfunction...:oops:

My OH had Viagra from the start . Given by heart consultant as it was originally going to be a heart medicine. Took til 12 months before his diagnosis ! Obviously didn't stop him getting Alzheimer's! But when he started with dementia symptoms medics were surprised when it wasn't vascular given his history. Multiple heart attacks!

Next year they can run a piece on:
’women over fifty are reporting a huge increase in headaches and no one knows why’.

There will also surely be a boom in the sales of walking sticks, as more gentlemen struggle to walk at an unnatural angle.

I was always getting emails offering me the chance to buy viagra on line. I wonder why I don’t get them anymore?

Dear @Jaded'n'faded ,

Did they say anything about a women's 'equivalent'?

MaNaAk
Presumably women are already prescribed sildenafil (Viagra) in the past for its original purpose, i.e. angina and high blood pressure. However, as I understand it, these days it is prescribed far more to treat erectile dysfunction and is of course available 'over the counter' at any pharmacist.

There have been various trials to see if Viagra could be of benefit to women for Female Sexual Disorder but that's a very different thing to erectile dysfunction. And the results seem to suggest that it's not much use.

Then there was the case of a man with a stiff neck.

Or the man with stiff arms.
