Some people may also be interested in a slide show clickable on the same site.

This depicts self portaits of the artist William Utermohlen, which he painted as his dementia progressed.

They are utterly compelling, honest and beautiful, though very sad.

I imagine many of us have witnessed similar changes in loved ones, and have photographs which attest to the cruelty of disease progression, but here we have the person himself telling us what the experience is like.
