9 Months into a formal complaint
Along with a trip to the Ombudsman for good measure

And everything remains the same - Nothing Resolved - No further forward

Complaining to "Pals" is a waste of time

Complaining about the NHS is a dead end

I feel worthless as a Carer

You are not worthless. You have fought battles, done everything in your power and i am sure you arent going to give up.
The system failures are not your fault.
Take a breath, recover your strength and keep fighting.

Having been through a complaint, when the nhs people involved knew they didn't have a leg to stand on so they had nowhere to go in fighting it, I know how hard it is to find the time when caring to do the neccessary letters and meetings and research on top of the anger that one's loved one should be treated so badly. That you saw this through to the ombudsman says a huge amount about your tenacity and strength and how much you care - a lot of people give up well before that. So, no, you're not worthless. You're fantastic.

Thanks to those who replied

9 months of emails, phone calls, letters, 5 different Advocates and it all comes down to nothing...

I realise the system is flawed but, boy what a sorry state of affairs

Worthless in the final outcome - and to top it all i went through the "formal process" and ticked all the boxes

Pointless

Hi brynedjp,

You might not have received an official explanation or apology but your complaints may have improved the working practices of someone or some department. You may have helped many other patients.

@rhubarbtree

My situation is exactly the same - after the complaint

Nothing has improved - Nothing has changed -

I pity the people who receive this service and are alone without anyone to complain on their behalf

@kassy
Yes - I believe people can spend years trying to get something acknowledged let alone improved - and it shouldnt be like this

Good Luck with your treatment and i wish you well

Hello I found myself in a similar situation myself last year. Event hough there was still an element of Covering themselves..It was reassuring to know that lots of complaints are public on the om udsman site for all to see. This for me was important as it acknowledged and publicised outcomes. Be rest assured you are making a difference. .I know how disappointing and sad it can feel to take on red tape..which is there to prevent bad treatment and service..The old saying is go higher get louder...hard to do when you're a carer tired and losing the will to fight..best wishes...
