Things spoken in last few minutes are most vulnerable to be forgotten.
Any strategies for this?

This might help

Im afraid that there isnt much you can do about it. All you can do is tell them about things as you need them to know them. And just accept that anything you say will get forgotten.

Here's a video explaining the bookcase analogy referred to by @canary

It also explains that there is another stronger bookcase where emotions are stored, unlike memory recent emotions are not lost.
