people living in wales can claim a discount from welsh water. they operate a discount scheme for vulnerable groups. These
include a family with 3 or more children under 16 or people with certain medical conditions one of which is incontinence. To be eligible you also need to be claiming one of the following.
* income support
* income based jobseekers allowance
* new working family tax credit
* pension credit
* housing benefit
* council tax benefit
* child tax credit
your bill will be £286.85 a year & you need to have a water meter installed . Will only benefit if you spend over £24 a month on water . For application form contact publications hotline on 0800 0520138.
They also have a special needs register . If you are placed on register you will be provided with water from an alternative supply if there is a loss of supply due to burst main for example.
Finally they also operate a redirection service for callers so you can register to have any callers to house sent to another address such as relative for their identity to be verified first & accompanied to house by relative if required. Again aimed at vulnerable & to try to avoid bogus callers gaining entry.
