Hi my Dad has dementia and is cared for by my mum..both aged 83. Recently when they are out Dad has taken to wandering off. The last time he was missing for 3 hours and a police search ensued. We're investigating some sort of tracking device so that he isn't confined from walking but we can find him if he goes missing alone. Any experience of products. Looking forward to getting your advice as this is a minefield. many thanks

Get in touch with social services. They can refer you to telecare for trackers, door alarms etc. They provided us with a Buddi tracker free of charge: www.buddi.co.uk.

It's a little slow to update and obviously doesn't work underground, plus it needs charging up every day but as a basic tracker it's ok. We don't use it that much anymore these days but it's there just in case.
