so the poor man committed suicide. And after his death the council carried on putting pressure on another family member who had taken over the finances saying wrongly THEY would have to pay for care too.

How sad.

However, the report concluded that because Mr Provins had refused offers of further help, it was unlikely to have made any difference to the outcome."
And this is something we are all familiar with: no follow-up from the authorities, with the responsibility instead being placed on the vulnerable person himself. How many times have I seen that in my parents' case!
