Use of television remote

My mother is unable to use the television remote. I have been unable to get any “ universal big button remote” to pair with the sky q remote, I have tried 3 different ones. Anyone come across a similar problem? Jane

I don`t know if anything suitable is on the market yet but I have seen on the forum something about a remote which can be pre-set.

I hope some one will post to help you.

I got mum a flipper big button remote control. That has linked up to sky boxes though is a faff to program. I used to have it set to switch the TV and box on at the same time bit this caused problems in that the two devices easily got out of sync when the remote was pointed in the wrong place and it meant I was getting called out to go over very often just to sort this out. Her sky box is now set to be permanently on. The only problem is that when those annoying messages pop up, they cannot be cleared from the remote and have to be done via the box or sky remote.

I'm sure she has a sky q box.
