Hello everyone
i found this forum while looking for information about medication, and found it immediately and more besides!
Mum started showing symptons almost 1 year ago, and was diagnosed with AD in october. She also had asthma, which has degenerated into
emphasema, and has had osteoperosis for the past 10years. It's hard for Dad to get his head round it, and even harder for him to accept help (stubborn old s*d), but that's Dad! He's not well himself, and he's suffering lack of sleep coz Mum wakes his asking for tablets, or has she had her tablets, or have they got enough tablets for the weekend, - i'm sure you know what i mean?!!!
Anyhow, a client of mine is a carer in a nursing home, and gave me the 'heads up' on halodoporol with horror stories about the side effects. Well, today we had a meeting with our care manager, and she suggested we discuss a calmer at memory clinic, and she mentioned halodoporol. that started the alarm bells ringing, so i googled it and it lead me here. Hoorah!!!!! I've found a place where i won't have to talk in codes, or guard the words i use for fear that what i say will be misconstruded in some way. But i digress ....... Halodoporol. is it as bad as i've heard? What are the alternatives, if any?
I know i'll be a regular to this site now, and my love goes out to everyone living with and beside this soul stealing illness. X
