I've just watched this, and for the first half or so I thought it avoided the tougher side of caring. But while it doesn't deal with dementia (not obviously anyway) and avoids too much controversy, by the end I thought this was a good show to recommend to folk who struggle to understand the complicated mess of emotions that turns us in to carers.
Caring for for advanced dementia is clearly a tougher role, especially when it's 24/7, not a few days for a TV show. But I think at a time when more people will be thinking about social care and its place in society, this was a well timed broadcast. An updated version for the covid era would be even more helpful, but this was still useful as a guide to the "easier" parts of caring.
