My mum who has dementia lives on her own, and tends to put things in strange places. I have been decluttering her house and trying to be ruthless and getting rid of things she will never use again, which is hard but I know it is for the best, as it means when she does put something somewhere strange, like her glasses, teeth or panic button pendant it is easier to find them. The tv remote is another thing that has gone missing and I am going to try and get a replacement as she may have even put it in the bin. I want her to be able to watch tv as she stays in bed all the time doing nothing and so I think it would be good for her, but don't know how to stop the remote control from going missing, does anyone have any ideas?
She has also spilt cups of tea over the bed and the carer suggested getting her cups with a lid and straw but I am not sure whether she will drink from these. Has anybody bought anything like this that they can recommend and did they find that the person they cared for was able to use it? Thanks
