Mum moved into a new care home about 2 months ago. She is much happier, although her dementia has progressed at an alarming rate.
When she moved in to the care home they assessed mum as having medium needs, but they have now moved her up into a high needs category.
The fees will now go up by £150 .... we cannot meet this. Mum already pays £200 pounds a week, myself and my siblings pay £400 and the local authority pays £500.
I have asked that the local authority re-assess her in the hope that they will increase her personal budget and their contribution.
Has anyone experienced something similar? I am freaking out - I cannot move mum again, the trauma to her would be unbearable, she is finally finding some sort of peace and continuity.
