time to do something

hello, i'm in need of help.

i wanna help people, i wanna do something for others, but somehow i keep reaching dead ends generally down to my age. theres so much i wanna do i dont know where to start.

i want to do something to help alzhemiers, i don't want my dad's death to be in vain, and this is where i have decided to start.

any ideas of what i can do?

Think long term Laura.

Get some careers advice and see if there`s anything vocational you can aim for which will double up as a fine career for you and a tribute to your father.

i considered trying to get a job in a care home that specialised in alzhemiers, but could only find the one my dad was in, and i don't think i could go back there.
i found a care home who had two patients with alzhemiers, and asked if i could volunteer there on saturdays, but was told they weren't sure, because of my age, if i could be covered by insurance.
do u know of any places that specialise in alzhemiers?

Sometimes we don't need to look at devoting our entire lives to 'issues' that have moved us and motivated us ...... although I am guilty of that one myself!!!! But there are times to move on, knowing you have done some good whether it's in specific memory of someone or not .... whether it has been some voluntary time or paid employment .....

Perhaps a life's career might be shaped by your experiences at such a young age - but I would ask you to consider NOT an entirely vocational route - from what I know of you from your posts you are a very articulate, intelligent as well as passionate and motivated young lady ..... we need researchers.... we need politicians ..... we need fabulous fundraisers .... (not just for AD of course, but I understand that's where your passion lies just now) . Whatever your personal skills are - aim as high as you can to make the best possible benefit. That would be the best testimony to your dad.

Thank you Karen,
i'm going to look into some of the ideas.
and your right im not sure i want to totally devot my life to somethingnow, when ive experienced this and other jobs where i can help people i could possibly go back with this as a career path, but right now i need to decide which i can be more of a help to, and what i am happy to spend my life doing.
