In the last week my husband has almost burned the house down, I've had phone calls from the police and local taxi drivers saying they are worried about how many bus trips and taxi rides my husband is having(up to 4 return journeys of 38 miles per day, and today I heard he's been seen thumbing a lift. He has frontal lobe dementia and we are due at the memory clinic on Friday. What help can I reasonably ask for???

Have the police made a report to the social services? If they and your memory clinic do this it will trigger off an assessment. If not I believe you can self refer and phone asking for a care assessment for a vulnerable adult.

The assessment should then look at his needs as well as your needs.
