Just about to drop off last night and I experienced an awful crawling sensation on my arm, followed by the same thing on my leg. Close inspection of the bed found two ladybirds, which reassurede me. We are inundated with them every year as they seek winter shelter, one of the downs of a very old house I sjuspect. They do seem late this year though.

I had one crawling up my jacket a couple of weeks ago, but it flew onto my friend's hand when he tried to take a photo. Does your encounter count as a pleasant surprise.
