talk about "kick a man when he's down."

Just as long as you know people are thinking about you. I don't know if it worth trying to fight the council because they will just say that your house is a "family home" which I suppose technically it is. It must all seem too much to cope with just now, if this were to happen maybe 1 year from now you may feel better about it but it's all too much I imagine right now.

Take care and look after yourself. Glad you have supportive relatives coming for you.

I absolutely agree David! I thought, but of course don't really know for sure that if you had lived in a house and a parent died you could take over the tenancy? Definitely see the CAB and your MP!

Oh David, bureaucrats can be so insensitive. You have so much to deal with at the moment. Have your relatives arrived yet? If it was me I would have to deal with one thing at a time, and arrangements for your mum must be filling your mind. I am thinking of and praying for you.

Take care

my relatives won't arrive until the funeral which will be sometime next week.
A friend online suggested something and I did it, I rang a reporter at my local evening paper which covers all 4 counties of yorkshire, she's interested in my story about what the council has done and is going to talk to her editor, she's going to ring me back tomorrow and if they do the story come and take a photograph of me at home.

Glad to hear it. They don't like the press being involved. I live right by a railway line and the railway company in question refused to erect any sort of fence at the bottom of our garden. The original fence had disappeared. I had written to them several times and sent photos showing that my grandkids could get right onto the track. They kept writing back saying that it was 'adequate' so I got in touch with Anglia News and they contacted the railway company and the whole road now has a brand new pallasaide fence going up.

You really don't need this at such a time. I'm so sorry you are having so many upsetting things happening to you right now.

Go for it David
We were on Midlands Today a few weeks back as a unhappy carer.
It caused a few upsets .
I wanted a copy of the film and permission to use it on TP,but I have heard nothing.
Ask for yours if it happens, but ask before .

I am not banking on anything tho, wait and see what the report says this afternoon.
Now off to collect medical certificate its ready now

David, I don't know why but the medical profession seems to shy away from stating AD as the cause of death, even though it started all the problems which brought on the various medical situations.

Since the heart stops beating for all of us, perhaps the cause of death for everyone is heart failure. Yes, I'm being sarky.

It just bothers me that AD is never mentioned. I think it should be front & centre, so people can realize the devastation. I still have people who say "But your mother won't die from Alzheimer's, will she?". Her specialist is a great doctor, he always refers to AD as a terminal disease & that it kills people.

Sorry, don't mean to unload on you at such a time. Please accept my apologies.

joanne, nothing to apologise for, I agree 100% with what u said.
Mum wouldn't of got a chest infection that went pneumonia, if she hadn't wanted bed all the time, she couldn't drink properly, so didn't pee enough, thus causing the water infection that led to spetacaemia, both caused by the dementia.
As far as I am concerned Dementia killed my mum.

hugs
David

P.S. thats why I said official cause, in other words, wot the doc said.

A sad day for you today David,
It is often after the funeral, that the reality of a new situation sets in, so I hope you can be with friends who can help you adjust.

I hope you get a good result with your home and are able to stay, you could certainly do without the hassel of moving right now. Let's hope you have a good Housing Officer, one with a heart!!
