Hi Katie :)
It is very hard to predict the end as you will see by numerous posts.
Dad didn't have much of a life prior to dying as mum had horrific paranoia
Definitely welcome here.
I am glad to be going home to Australia tomorrow to see mum.
I actually did ok for almost 4 weeks of my holidays but once she broke her hip/pelvis it become a struggle.

Son and I went for a couple of hours yesterday. They decided to not start the morphine and medalinze (i called it medazle) on Wednesday and waited till 2e arrived on Thursday. I triggered the morphine request. Mum was grimacing and quite rigid.
However if I became a contortionist :) mum could see me and i got ..... an eye smile she definitely could see me and her eye muscles relaxed seeing me.
She held my hand the whole time i was there (i picked her hand up and she held my thumb)
I came back a couple of hours later , post new drugs, and mum appeared to be ending. Her eyes were half shut with the pupil not seen. She had no muscle tone at all.

It is now going on for 5am . I am surprised to have not been rung and advised she has gone ( i changed my directions and asked to be called when she passed )
Mum looks like dad did a couple of days before he died.
I will go back about 7 am
The staff said they thought she was waiting to see me.
I am so glad she did.
