I'm so sorry about your worries - i think upping the care package is a good first step. At least try it please. Plus as your brother enjoys socialising take advantage of every opportunity for him to go to day centres if possible.
Care can be provided in your own home & if he is self funding this works out the same costings as a care home surprisingly !

Sadly life's been downgraded to tick boxes
Please never forget that wanting someone to be safe 24/7 is an act of love. no one judges on here just folks sharing their own experiences

Wobbly isn't necessarily unsafe though ? My husband has started putting shovel fulls of gravel in cupboards which is driving me nuts but its not unsafe for him to be at home (although the climbing out of windows during the night is a worry!)
That’s true Ruth1974, it’s just that he has to cope with a steep staircase and has no downstairs bathroom. I worry because he lives alone. Gosh the cupboards full of gravel must be hard to deal with ?. Thank you for your response ?

Hi Desperate if Devon, unfortunately my brother will only socialise with certain people. He has flatly refused going to day centre etc. HEs always been a loner and so independent that I think he just won’t admit to being lonely. Ive got a new care company taking over in a week or so. Who seem more switched on to his type of dementia and I’m hoping they may make a difference. His symptoms are really rocketing along. Thank you for your reply.
