Fly Me To The Moon (Julie London)*

Twenty-Five Miles by Edwin Starr

Working My Way Back To You by the Detroit Spinners

* Cry Me A River by Julie London was a favourite of dad's and he used to ask mum to dance when they're ballroom played this. Sometimes I am in tears when I hear this song because of them.

Sorry perhaps misplaced but perhaps very close to the heart......An interesting Opera with a story. The music paralells for me the coming out of lockdown with over a year of lost time and change.

Quanto t'amava questa tua mamma! -How much this mother of yours loved you

I am quite emotional about the last year and the choices I have made before then, but Senza Mamma for me portrays the real tragedy coming out of lockdown as the sole survivor of a family who are now all gone apart from mum with advanced dementia.....all that is left

It’s a dramatic tale of love and the song ends with the words…..

Dillo alla mamma, creatura bella

Con un leggero scintillar di stella

Parlami, parlami, amore, amore, amore!

Translated:

Tell mom, beautiful creature

With a slight star sparkle

Talk to me, talk to me, love, love, love!
