[Quite contrary]

I have a telephone appointment with a Social Prescriber next Friday. Does anyone have experience of this. What is their function and what should I talk about or ask? How do they help?

The one I spoke too was really helpfull. She was able to get at my OH's doctor much quicker than I could. She also kept in touch later and was very supportive. Make the best use of them, they work well!

I had already read the offical bumph and was not hopeful but am much more so now. I will give feedback after the appointnent.

They can help with many things including referring to relevant agencies for benefit checks, local social activities, practical support, NHS services and lots more. They should do an assessment to ascertain what support you may require. They can help chase up referrals and ensure you get appropriate services.
