I am getting a social care assessment tomorrow afternoon. Any tips or advice? My daughter is coming up to sit in which is good, in case I go brain dead! Although we are only 3 yrs in from a diagnosis for my OH, I haven’t had any help, but maybe now is the time to start slowly and get us both used to it. It’s a killer of a journey isn’t it?

hi @Thethirdmrsc
if you have a chance this evening make some notes about what your OH has difficulty with, what you have to help him with and what you find challenging

maybe go through the day from waking up to drifting off at night (the worst day at that) and jot down the tasks you help with ... to me the idea is to support your OH and also take off you some of the tasks to give you a break ... don't play things down and don't guilt-trip ypurself into thinking you shouldn't have help with some things
especially ask about day care and respite ... you need time for yourself
