Mothers got dementia and is 90 years old ! All she wants to do is sleep all day long we have to try and feed her as she won't eat ! Does that mean her brain is telling her it's time to go we are trying to give her a drink every hour as she will only drink and eat a tiny bit ! This is going to be a rocky road !

Its difficult isnt it? Your mum may have reached that stage, but there again - mum was like this and I really thought it was the end, but she has rallied.
Just keep offering her food and drink, but dont force it.

Do you think it would help if you ate and drank with her? Sometimes the social thing kicks in. Even if she only has a little bit, it is better than nothing.
You might want to talk with her doctor, just to be sure she is not being over-medicated. It's possible she is sleepy from the medicines she is taking more than anything else.
