my mother was recently put on serequil for dementia related psychosis, I was wondering if other care givers have had experience with this drug, and if they have found it to be effective.

Hello Woodnick and welcome to TP

I have heard of seroquel being used for bi polar but have no personal experience of it's use.

Hopefully later on today you will get some replies from carers who have some knowledge of the drug. Hopefully it will help your Mum and she will benefit from taking it.m

Look forward to you joining us on the forum.

Jay

Seroquel (generic name Quetiapine) was considered for my wife to control severe hallucinations/delusions but was considered inappropriate as she had LDB.
A mix of Memantine and Sodium Valproate was prescribed which proved reasonably effective, they were carried on until the syringe driver was used, all other medication for co-morbidities was stopped 3 months before that.
