So i phone mom and ask her to come out (i cant yet as the kids are still asleep)she lives on her own, do i say ok let me know when there up or do i correct her???

I would say "OK, I'll nip round in a few minutes as they'll probably be up by the time I get there". Your arrival may be enough distraction to let your mom move on.

I wouldn't rely on your mom ending her thought and remembering to phone you later.
