Just back from a "diagnosis" session with the Consultant for my mum. She has been diagnosed with vascular dementia and alzheimers. Talk about getting the lot! But at least we now have a name for what she is going through.
Anyway they have suggested putting her on Rivastigmine. Does anyone have any experience with this? Any side effects?
We now seem to have got ourselves in the system so to speak. Thanks to everyone for your advice We are now looking into day centres, applying to the DLA, Council Tax reduction and anything else we can find to help both my mum and dad out. I am also about to attend my first Alz' Cafe in Elmbridge, a meeting point for carers' to just chat and get advise.
So if anyone out there has any information on this new drug, I would be really grateful.
