Hi
I am a mum to a young caregiver who is currently living with her father who is suffering with Alzheimer’s age 56. She has very little support
We are experiencing great difficulty in finding anywhere that offers respite for young onset Alzheimer’s. They live in Kent.
Can anyone please advise if they have any knowledge of homes around that take young people?
My daughter is at her whits end and suffering with her mental health.

A warm welcome to Dementia Talking Point @worriedmum.
I think your daughter needs to contact social services and say she can no longer manager her father's needs. Social services are very stretched and while she is looking after him they will probably let her get on with it unless she makes a fuss. What would happen if she left him to look after himself, does he have any help coming in?
If he can pay for his own care the family could look for somewhere either for respite or permanently. This booklet might help
Also this site might help you identify home in the area that would be suitable.
I'm sure other people will be along soon with their advice, this is a very friendly and supportive site.
