I run a carers course as part of my job so I thought I would put a post up here with some of the resources I give out during the course in case they might be of any benefit to anyone here.

Information about eating and drinking:

http://www.gov.scot/resource/0044/00449379.pdf

Sensory information:

DNAR information:
https://www.resus.org.uk/faqs/faqs-dnacpr/

Communication: (I know several of you on here are already aware of this document, but just posting again for anyone who has yet to see it)

Having difficult conversations/bereavement:

Courses:
www.futurelearn.com - this has regular free courses on dementia. If you type 'dementia' into the search box you can see what is available. I found the Many Faces of Dementia particularly helpful, but there are others covering different topics

Thanks @emp
I will have a good look. I used to run Carers courses too as part of my job. I gave the role up to look after Mum in early 2015, and miss it terribly still. All the best - I know from experience what a positive effect these courses can have .

Thanks Lindy50, yes it does have a really positive effect and I like being able to help even if it's in a small way. I'm always building on it too so constantly on the lookout for new things I can use or share with people
