I am moving my mother across counties and need a private ambulance. I'm looking for recommendations please from those who have used one before. I have had a quote thats £230 but employee reviews of the company are poor. Another quote was for £830 with good reviews. Quite a difference in price. The journey is 70 miles.

Hi @blueorchid have you asked where your mother is moving to for their recommendations? I asked the home mum was moving from and they didn't have any suggestions, but the home she moved to suggested a local firm who were very good. The cost was about £800 up front for a move of 140 miles, but I got about £200.00 back as their were no problems. I know St John's ambulance also do transfers and my sister in law used them but I don't know if they are any good or not.
