A student has produced a Powerpoint life story for her grandma who has AD. She has printed out the book for her grandma to keep, and for reference for carers.

She has given her template to Alzheimer Scotland, and they have made it available on their website.

It's a brilliant idea, and if you have Powerpoint it's worth having a look.

Hello Hazel, thank you so much for posting this. It's a wonderful idea. I'm having trouble viewing the template but that could be because my computer is VERY SLOW! I'll try getting to it another way round, i.e perhaps by closing other applications first. It really would be lovely to try and create something like this for my mum and family. Brilliant!

You do, of course, need to have a copy of Microsoft's PowerPoint software on your PC to use the template.

Just to view it, you can download a PowerPoint Viewer from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...27-43AB-4F24-90B7-A94784AF71A4&displaylang=en

Microsoft's Office home and Student software includes PowerPoint and is available from many sources, including Amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/Microsoft-O...sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=software&qid=1206539547&sr=8-1

This software legally permits 3 copies of Word, Excel and PowerPoint, in the same house.

There are other presentation packages available as free software, and the template can be used as the basis of using those - probably by starting from scratch, not copying over.

Dear Hazel
Thanks for posting the link. Having looked at the presentation there are some good prompts to provide crucial info and pics. I think if I were going to use it I might have to edit it slightly, to make it relevant to Dad. A very useful tool for anybody making a start on putting a life story together.
Thanks for the post Hazel
take care
hendy
