Posts disappearing

A couple of times I have noticed that complete posts seem to have disappeared (not mine though). Am I just losing them, or does this happen for a reason?

Dear Katy

I deleted some posts that I wrote this morning as I was feeling really down and it was stupid to post it on a national website. Everyone has their own problems, they don't need to listen to me rant. There are others here in much worse situations than me and mine. Sorry if some of your replies were on the threads. My fault I'm afraid, not Nada's or the other moderators.

That post was the specific one I had in mind today, Magic, but I didn't mean to have you explain yourself - sorry!
Nada - thanks for your explanation - I didn't realise that we have the facility to delete our own posts, I think I wander round this forum with my eyes shut! I have noticed this happening a couple of times before and that must have been it.
