People like me (a friend not a relative)

Are there many people on here like me, who care for a friend rather than a relative? I've been caring for my friend (and neighbour) for two years now - since her partner died and I found out she had Alzheimer's. She's earlyish still - can live safely on her own, take care of herself etc, but her memory is awful, she can't now retain much, gets quite confused about things sometimes, etc so she needs support, help with pills, accompanying to appointments etc. So... I do all that, see her everyday, help her with whatever she needs help with, eat with her five nights a week (she goes to her brother and sister-in-law's the other two), take her out places, etc etc.

I don't know anyone else in my situation. I am in close contact with Alzheimer's Support, who are great, and very supportive, but everyone I have met so far is a relative, and I'd quite like to find others like me to talk to as well!

Thanks :)
