Today my mother was diagnosed with PCA/Bensens disease which is a rare form of dementia. She’s at stage 3 in her symptoms but showed signs for up to 5 years. The family are devastated. I can’t accept that there is nothing that can be done. What about new medicines or electromagnetic resonance therapy- has anyone had any experience of these alternative therapies? Thank you

Sorry, I’ve not been on for a while so have only just seen your post. My wife has PCA diagnosed in 2015 when she was 61. She is now late in stage 3 with some symptoms from stage 4.

I have no experience of alternative therapies, but have not read or heard of any significant results. The best bet at the moment seems still to be the standard drugs which alleviate some symptoms but don’t work for all people and for some have intolerable side-effects, notably intestinal.

All the Best, keep posting.
