Had a long chat and visit with the Consultant Ophthalmologist yesterday.
Such a nice lady .

Husband had the usual eye checks, then the full visual field tests, then the drops and slit lamp.

She said that his vision is now poor enough for him to be registered as partially sighted.
He can see straight ahead, but his 'strokes' have caused his field of vision to deteriorate a lot.

It there any benefit (already get DLA care and mobility) to getting 'REGISTERED' ?

Regards

Thank you

Thank you....

I've had a look at the RNIB site already, and printed off some leaflets.

My husband has been referred to a Community Outreach Team for The 'Blind'....
Not sure what they can offer. We shall see.

Need to let his Social Worker know that he has been declared 'blind' by the Docs.

Doc seems to think that his vision will not get any worse for now, but said to keep in touch every six months or so.

Last stroke was in the occipital lobe... BIG and BAD !!

Really did not need this additional complication to my already weary life !!

What's that saying.....?

Day by Day.....

Take care,
