Sorry not been on for ages but just too depressed myself, the antidepressants not doing B any good what so ever, he in fact said he would rather have a sherry :), but joking apart, Doc increased the dosage, and to day it is awful, he is just so disoriented......, he is sleeping, and now has a cough.

He did eat today but just I had to spoon feed him mince and smash.

Went to the pharmacist and explained everything, he said it is local holiday on Monday, but he is open 9-1.00 and if need an ambulance just call one.

I spoke about the increase in dosage and said it was like killing him and could I just halve until I see doc on Tuesday, he said why not they would halve dosage to wean him off anyway.

Also was at maters last week and her dementia was terrible too but that another story maybe I will just blog.

I'm so sorry to hear your news Patsy. If you're concerned over the weekend could you phone out of hours doctors? If he has a cough is there a chance he has a chest infection?

Bad week all round, had to get Doc in on Tuesday as no better, she said cut down then stop. Wed night pain in kidneys (it went away)
But last night he went for a sleep then at 5.00pm could hardly walk wanted down stairs, (eventually bumped him down) hardy talk, he was slurred and his mouth more drooped than usual thought stroke, so called 111 who said "Call your doc if with hours" called Doc who said "With patient just now if urgent call 999" so did and they came, they asked him what day it was he said Sunday......now I'm really worried but Blues and twos all way to the Vic and spent 4hrs in A+E turns out a non specific viral infection take two paracetamol every 4hrs and keep warm.

This AM a full blown head cold............he has gone back to bed but has been up since noon.

And he hasn't shouted at me for calling ambulance I think he realised he was ill.

Just wanted to say hi, sorry not been on for weeks months, but been full time carer now since Dec 4th...........everyday difficult and yes think the LB are kicking in or should that be out.......Anyway, we are still here and with me being "retired" he is happier, and eating more, ok not maybe the best diet but food.........he loves sponge pudding and custard.

Today has been a little choking but no more than usual, I am still surviving just......still want to run away but here.

Bathing now difficult and he need help to wash hair.

Sorry to hear the problems you are having to deal with. A friend of mine's husband had the same as your hubby and it was so difficult to look after him. I hope you can get help. I also had my mum and husband to look after and help at the same time. Mum went in to a care home and then nursing home. Apart from dementia she was also blind. I couldn't cope with both of them in the end. I wish you well and hope all goes ok with your mum. xxx

Helpful courses

Yes pharmacist said that too but he gave me a linctus for him and said any concerns, call and he can have paracetimal.

BTW this is coming up if anyone wants to join me

I've not noticed this Parkinsons course, but I'm signed in for the one for carers of people with dementia, starts May 23rd. It's run by Newcastle University who specialise in Lewy Body Dementia which is very similar to Parkinsons with dementia:
