hi - I am new to this ! My mum was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in May last year and has been ticking along - albeit forgetful but cope able !! Dad has just been diagnosed with Lewy body dementia and is at present in a mental health unit as we had to have him sectioned ! He is being treated and well looked after - however - this has sent my mum into meltdown !! She is on medication for her alzheimers and I am giving her calms which seems to take the edge off it but I think she needs something stronger !! Any advice please ? Thank you

Medication to calm a PWD is a tricky area as too high a dose can leave them unable to function
I would suggest your GP or has your Mum got a CPN? (Community psychiatric Nurse)
