Update ....
So today is not as good...
Husband still in bed when I got there late morning/lunch, saying he feels terrible.
Went in early to see the Docs on the ward round, but they were delayed by another emergency. Did manage to see a Reg though.
She was nice.
An hour later, he's much worse ... confused +++
They did the Ob's... his pulse was racing 100+, blood pressure low....
temp 38... so only a little raised...
Then they did a bladder scan , and found out that he has over 2 litres of un-passed urine in his bladder !!
So much so, for monitoring his urine output, and fluid intake.
TOLD THEM ABOUT THIS YESTERDAY, AND THE DAY BEFORE.....
ALSO TOLD THE REG... THAT THE STAFF ARE NOT FILLING IN THE FORM CORRECTLY, AND SHE SAID THAT 'THIS HAPPENS SOMETIMES', AND THAT THE STAFF JUST GIVE THE PATIENT A DRINK, AND THEN WRITE IT ON THEIR CHARTS AS THOUGH THEY HAVE DRUNK ... EVEN IF THEY HAVE NOT.
SHE DIDN'T SEEM TOO BOTHERED ABOUT IT....
TO 'ME' ANYWAY...
So, now we have a new catheter in place... and he's back p'ing fine.
Still waiting for the nurse to test his urine for any signs of infection.
Still waiting to have an ECG done, when I left.
Bloods taken (full blood count), and still waiting for the results.
Reg said this should have been done this morning, and they forgot it.
Confusion is just escallating today.... might be the urine retention.....
He's adding all-sorts to these stories of his....
He was in 'full throw' to the nursing staff and Registrar..... about being at the departure lounge, and that he can see his plane ( IT'S NOW A PRIVATE JET... DON'T YOU KNOW !!) parked ... 'just over there'.
Glad about that really.
Like I said before the more people that hear this 'talk' .. the better.
Sorry, if some of you don't agree with this.
I NEED them to know / and hear ..... what I've been facing for some time now.
it's ONE thing being told these things, in out-patients... and by e-mail,
AND another, hearing them for yourselves.
Not sure how things will be next week.... we shall see.
Need to get some anti-biotics no doubt, and start over with the 'incontinence issues'.
Hope you all have a good week end.
Take Care,
DaisyG
