Oysters

Today I spoke with a representative from the Dementia Advice Service who suggested that I may think about getting an oyster for my husband especially as I have booked a coach trip for us in July. Can anyone give me more information on oysters, such as how they work?

Surely an Oyster card is for transport in London? https://tfl.gov.uk/fares-and-payments/oyster

I'm not sure how that would help with a coach trip.

Apparently it's some sort of tracking device. I just wondered how it worked.

Oh that. I always thought that was for tracking containers and the like. Maybe they've introduced a personal one now.

Having said that, there are several GPS tracking devices on the market. The primary problem with anything like that is 1) their accuracy and 2) if the person will keep them with them. I can't speak to the latter, but the former may have a worse case accuracy field of around 25 feet.

Doe he have a mobile? There are apps you can download that provide something similar.
