My dad is in early stages of vascular dementia. Having spent a long period in hospital following an unrelated issue it wasn’t appropriate for him to return home as he has no local support. He has moved into residential care but the other residents are much further along in the illness so he is ver uncomfortable there - and bored silly. He really needs something in between but no one is offering anything in between. Has anyone come up with a workable solution?

Hello and welcome @Nic W

I know some members have made good use of sheltered/supported housing so I think you will get replies to your question.

In the meantime, do have a look around the site as it is a great resource.

Have you asked the manager what activities are on offer? There should be an activities co-ordinator who may be able to cater for his needs.
Unfortunately, a lot of people with dementia state that they are bored, but are unable to concentrate on anything long enough.
