A recent story in the press concerned how a man 'cured' his mother of dementia through dietery changes. Apparently this has been officially welcomed and his menus are to appear on this site. Where can I find them?

The BBC report quoted above tells you which foods were involved. It's all the things recommended in a Mediterranean type diet plus other things known to be helpful such as regular exercise and socialising. But the dramatic 'cure' referred to, I would put down to a misdiagnosis of Alzheimers. All those fruit and veggies are full of B vitamins. More likely that blood tests for B vitamins were inadequate and/or misunderstood.

I’ve never followed a very healthy diet. I’m vegetarian & have been since I was 15 :) So would anybody recommend any vitamins that they think are worth using daily?

Thanks everyone. It's natural to clutch at straws whenever we can. My OH and I have already followed the Mediterranean diet for years. Maybe it's slowed my OH's dementia a little, who knows? Over the past 2 years I've also added lots of cinnamon, tumeric, rosemary and other herbs to our diet. Also Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, and Omega oil supplements.
As I said before...clutching straws. Somehow, it feels better than doing nothing, even if in the end I've been wasting my time.
