Mum was rushed to hospital Tuesday evening with a infection could be sespus tested for msra on a drip mum mouth is very dry salt team put mum on nill by Mouth but not yet come to see her would a IV drip help with her fluids and how do they get tablets into mum if she nill by Mouth not eastern no food since Tuesday afternoon thanks for any advice on this subject

As your mum is on a drip that is how they get fluids in when she is Nil By Mouth. They can give liquid anti-biotics through the drip too, and Im sure they would have already started.

If your Mum’s mouth is dry @jelba ask the staff for a sponge and water and just wipe over your mums lips to keep them moist and avoid cracking. As Canary said, what your mum needs re hydration and medication can be done through the drip.

Going to try puree supper at hospital no more thickener in drinks as it gets stuck and takes a while to break down mum seems to have more color in her now going to do a risk assessment on her
