I stumbled across this article on the BBC web site which discusses how elderly people are not receiving their fair share of social services bdugets:

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/4713873.stm

    One finding said it all:

Just under half of council care budgets are spent on the elderly, despite them accounting for nearly two-thirds of the clients.

This certainly reflects various experiences of those here on Talking Point, but it's interesting to see it formally documented and reported upon.

It does seem to indicate an unoffical system of rationing based on who shouts the loudest.

    Take care,

    Sandy
