Hello Mr and Mrs Truckman: I cannot add much to the good advice you have already had. I do hope you find TP is helping.

Your local Alzheimers Society Group may involve you with local support. Ours ran a course where we met similar people with the same problems. We went along to 'cafes' to socialise or discuss any issues that worried us. 'Cafes' were either lunches at local pub or a regular weekly meetings.

My husband was reticent about telling folk in the early days but found friends and ex colleagues were very supportive when he told them of his illness. The ones who fell away were replaced by some very special and caring friends.

Good luck to you both and thanks for sharing with us.

I would just like to say a very big thanks to all for the advise and help. I will try and take it all on board.
Ias I read some of the post on this site, i sometimes feel a little bit (whats the word i am looking for?).... selfish. I see how hard it has been for many and I know I have a lot to go.

I can and do understand hoe those taht have suffered loss feel as when my brother died at the age of 41 . although not dementia related, I was a body blow.

Take care everyone
Norman
