My Pleasure.

I use a lot of music therapy for people with advance Dementia also for those with not so Advance dementia .

It’s amazing to see such happiness in there faces when I play music they like, it trigger something in the brain to help them sing along to a song where other wise they would not talk at all .
They talk to me about things .

I know how hard it must be for the Relatives to see a love one at this stage .
I saw my mother at this stage, with cancer also .

I found it emotionally hard to process, so can understand without judgement on family’s wanting good Quality end of life care for love ones with dementia in a dementia nursing care homes .

we have Hospice for cancer Patients, so we could have for people with Dementia.

One thing dementia does not take away is the feeling, feelings.
Touch - Sensor sensory .
Quality end of life care even if end of life care is long way away in years .

we hounor the Divine life within the person .
“Namaste”

It looks like a really good course @Maggie.

My understanding of Namaste is " the spirit within me salutes the spirit within you" which seems ideal for working with people with dementia.

No, I didn't do the course but a lady from the programme visited John a few times. I think she gave him hand massages, did colouring in and put together a memory folder. Then she quit for personal reasons or something.

it’s all pretty Awesome and amazing in Theory.
it about end of life care for people with dementia
Namaste is an Indian greeting which means to honor the sprite within

The care Program is multi dimensional including physical sensory and emotional elements the purpose of Namaste is to give comfort and pleasure to people with advanced dementia through sensory stimulation especially the use of touch.

one to one person Centered care.
Slow hand Massage
Your attention only Focused one person person in a room with Sensory items .

When a person is at stage in there Dementia is in the stage of going inward.

An Example if you’ve done any personal Research into dementia while caring supporting a love on 24/7 or training .

you may of read about Auguste Deter. Auguste Deter (16 May 1850 – 8 April 1906) was a German woman notable for being the first person to be diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease.
This is the stage “Namaste Care programs for people with Dementia is about .

Quote You matter because you are and you matter to the end of your life, and we will help you not only die peacefully but to live until you die “ Quote

amazing really for me personally as I use to do this kind of Sensory Therapy with my mother .

I use to put mindfulness music on in the house .
My daughter was training as a Beautiful Therapist use to practice on my mom’s hands and massage her hands arms .

Sensory music use to Calm moms anxieties.
So would not need to use Pharmaceutical medication.
I would have the music playing, while typing away on talking point .
Talking point was my outlet ? of not feeling so isolated at home 24/7 on weekends mum never went to day care .

Gone off topic nowhowever

It’s so inspiring to see a person who’s sitting on a reclining specialist chair or a lady sitting in the lounge on an armchair who’s gone inwards because of What the damage of the diseases has done to the person brain, still able to connect with you thought this programs also with music therapy .

They see you she life’s her body up to sit up forward to connect to you on a sensory levelI.

reminds me how I use to see that a lot in care homes when mum use to go to Respite.
Residence chairs all lined up against the wall just sitting slammed on a chair with no one interacting with them all sitting in front of a TV with no situation from another human being .
No wonder my mum was scared to be left in the home .

Also hope for evolving where you just see the person just laying down on a bed waiting to pass away and just having personal care .

if you see someone like this in care home reach out to them touch there hand look them in the eyes because there still there even if they do not have the cognitive ability to interact with you like they use to before the disease damaged there drain .
Dementia decease does not take the LOVE away .
Only if you personally let it .

amazing what can be achieved with the human spirit to LIVE while waiting to pass away .
Even if passing away is long way ahead in the future.
Person centered care.
