my mum was diagnosed with AD about 3 years ago.
I visited her at home about 2 weeks, dad is her main carer. We live 120 miles away, so don't get up to see them as often as I can.
She has decreasingly stopped eating, barely a mouthful of food each day. Now it seems for the last 2 days she has a sip of a cup of tea from each mug dad makes her. She is almost totally urine incontinent but dad says last night was the first night in weeks she hadn't wet the bed.
I am very worried about her deterioration over the last week or so and would like any advice or support that anyone can offer. I try to help and advise dad but we are all struggling.
Thanks

I am sorry about your situation-not easy. I wonder whether she is dehydrated if badly incontinent, bed dry and only small sips of liquids. Such little fluid intake would aid development of UTI as well. It may be an idea to get her checked for UTI or another infection. If dehydrated, the wish to eat would also be compromised. I do hope someone else comes along soon with a better suggestion. Best wishes
