My Mum is struggling in caring for my Dad

My Mum has been caring for my Dad for around 8 years now, she is 82 and my Dad is 87. She copes very well but she struggles with the fact that my Dad won't let her out of his sight. He is very possessive, he doesn't like her talking to anyone else, he is jealous of her, and won't even let her answer the telephone without listening in. I try to help out by taking them out and my husband takes my Dad to snooker once a week while I take my Mum shopping; but we both still work so we aren't able to do this every day.

I would like to ask if anyone else has experienced this situation and how can we look at respite when my Dad won't let my Mum out of his sight?
